One-to-One Collaborations, Grant Applications and Collaborative Papers
So far, Stirline GmbH, Bond Technologies Inc, UQTR (Canada), National Research Council Canada, National Chung Cheng University, University of Waterloo, University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, TRAC-C industrie, JACKY, LAMEF, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, DriveConcepts GmbH, Sandeep, Smart Industry Group, BIL-IBS, Brigham Young University, Institut Spawalnictwa, OxCAM Engineering Arc, Sabe Technology Ltd, Transforming Stress Ltd, FTS Engineering Answers Ltd and AluStir have signed-up as project participants, as shown in the list of project partipants. The project is open for further project participants. Please contact stephan.kallee@alustir.com, if you want to contribute to this project.
Several projects participants teamed-up for industrially funded contract R&D work on a one-to-one basis. Some of the results of this work will be published on www.aicamstir.com, whil other results will be kept confidential.
It is also possible and encouraged to set-up government funded sub projects, e.g. on using automated in-line shearography for closed-loop parameter control during FSW of thermoplastics in the high-volume production of battery trays.
John Kell MBE, the Account Manager of the Automotive Sector Team of the UK's Department for International Trade (DIT), mentioned after the meeting the following government funded project calls:
- Based on your project aligned with AI, perhaps we can look at Made Smarter: Innovation Network
- For future power electronics, motors and drives supply chain development UKRI DER may have scope to approach process development: Driving the electric revolution challenge
- Fabrication of battery boxes, electric motors and battery bus bars as well as contacts research are also areas of interest to be investigated
Simon Smith, Mike Lewis and Stephan Kallee have submitted an abstract on Using Artificial Intelligence in the Computer Aided Manufacturing of Friction Stir Welds to be presented at the Upcoming events#ISFSWP 2022 ''Joint International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding and Processing'' to be held on 28-30 September 2022 in Germany at the University of Lüneburg and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, Geesthacht.
